Normally when I write one of these blogs I try to make them witty or humorous or at least have some kind of entertainment value.  But, forgive me this one is personal.

This is Father's Day weekend, and as I get older, Father's Day means something different today that it did in years past.  I am fortunate that my Dad is still alive and kicking.  In years past, Father's Day was always a time for the whole family to get together and eat, give dad a ugly tie and then eat again.

I still like spending time with my dad on Father's Day weekend before, but what's really important to me today is spending time with MY KIDS (sorry Dad).  I don't want to be around a lot of other people, I just want to hang with my two beautiful daughters, Sara and Abby.  I want that ugly tie!

I am so blessed to have these kids in my life.  They are amazing young ladies, and I am so very proud of them.  I am not going to bore you with all of their accomplishments or tell you how great they are.  Here's my message to you Dads:

Even though it's called Father's Day, it's my opinion it should be called Kid's Day or something, because at the end of the day, it's not how much money you have, how good your job is or what kind of car you drive.  To me, all that really really matters is those kids, and if you are a father worth your salt, you will spend your Father's Day telling your kids how much you love them.

Sara, Abby, Happy Father's Day, I love you.
