Country Music Hall of Fame member John Anderson will perform at the Missouri State Fair on Tuesday, August 12, at 7:30 PM. Joining him that night to make it a complete retro evening of country and pop tunes is Exile.

John Anderson

If you're a 90s country or music fan, you'll know his hit "Straight Tequila Nights." John's career goes back to the 1970s, and he has charted more than 40 singles on the Billboard country charts. Some of those hits include these #1 80s tunes: "Wild and Blue," "Swingin," and "Black Sheep." He also had another 90s #1 hit, "Money In The Bank."

His album "Years" was released in 2020, produced by veteran producer David Ferguson and The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach.

Anderson was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2024. One thing to note about his Missouri State Fair performance is that it is being billed as an "Acoustic Evening With John Anderson." While I'm sure you'll hear the hits, I'd expect a little more of a stripped-down, intimate experience with one of Nashville's iconic songwriters.

Exile

While many know Exile for their #1 hit "Kiss You All Over," country music fans of the era will also be familiar with ten #1 country singles, including "Woke Up In Love" and "Give Me One More Chance." "Kiss You All Over" spent four weeks at #1 on Billboard's pop chart, and another generation was introduced to the song through Adam Sandler's movie "Happy Gilmore."

One interesting fact about Exile is that all five original members tour with the group today, which is a rarity among classic rock and pop bands. They are currently touring and promoting their album "A Million Miles Later" and have new music on the Horizon.
