The Chiefs first two games this season were each won on the final play of the game. Kansas City has the confidence and swagger to not get overwhelmed in those moments, but they’re definitely playing with fire in the NFL. The old adage is “You play with fire, eventually you get burned.” The question is when.

Both Chiefs wins were against good teams in the Ravens and Bengals. Both games were also at Arrowhead, and that does matter.

Sunday night Kansas City travels to Atlanta to play a Falcons team that just won in Philadelphia against the Eagles with a touchdown pass from QB Kirk Cousins to Drake London with 34 seconds left. Poise on the road is crucial, and the Falcons just showed some. They should have plenty of positives preparing for their match vs KC.

Kansas City will be without Isaiah Pacheco who broke his leg against the Bengals last week. Carson Steele gets elevated to starting tailback, but don’t be surprised if Semaje Perine gets a few more touches and look for Xavier Worthy to run a jet sweep or two.

Rashee Rice has been fantastic early this season, and with Worthy stretching the Falcon defense look for Rice to continue shining. Travis Kelce would love to get a few more catches, but having extra weapons on offense saves him from wear and tear for those consequential downs in key moments.

Kirk Cousins is usually good at managing the game and is a veteran presence for the Falcons. Bijan Robinson is dynamic out the Atlanta backfield running and catching the ball. Darnell Mooney and Ray- Ray Mcloud III along with the aforementioned Drake London give the Falcons plenty of options on offense.

Kansas City’s defense has stepped up in the past. They are certainly capable. Steve Spagnuolo should have some compelling schemes for Cousins and Atlanta.

The Chiefs are favored by 3 points. The game may very well come down to Harrison Butker. Kansas City is more than comfortable with that.
