Have you ever heard anyone say, “You’re in a mood because you listen to that type music”? I’ve heard it my entire life, from grandparents, aunts and uncles. Can the music you listen to really alter or affect your mood?

According to Healthline, your mood can be benefited by listening to the right type of music. It even goes so far as to say that even singing has been scientifically proven as therapeutic.

Not only does music affect our moods, but Healthy Living has also noted that children and adolescents, as well as adults, are also motivated, relieved of anxiety or stress, soothed to sleep, or pumped up for the next sporting event through the power of music.

Something I found interesting is that The Journal of Positive Psychology has discovered that in only a couple of weeks of listening to the right types of music, a person’s overall mood can be boosted.

What do you think?  Does the music you listen to make you angry, sad or happy? According to research, it can definitely affect your disposition. So, put on a happy song, turn it up, get out and enjoy the day!
