Stacking The Plate Debate: Hazardous Meddling or Practical Help?
Gentle Reader, today I might need your guidance on a topic.
Not long ago, my Dad and I went out for lunch. And of course it was a lovely time, with laughs and lots of good food. And I didn't think twice about it, like always. Nothing ever exciting happens when I go out, really.
But then later, as I got settled into my little workout routine, an account I follow on Tiktok, the Bistro Huddy, had a video pop up on my feed. I'll tell you about it if you don't want to watch it, but you should (Bistro Huddy is awesome, but then I do get caught up in some of My Stories, like them and Shawna the Mom and Paloma Diamond. Anyway).

So the basics of the video goes like this: a customer in a restaurant stacks their used plates at the end of the table, thinking they're helping their server by making it easier for them to grab it. The server, while polite, tells them she actually doesn't like it when customers do that, because it sometimes gets messy or precarious to carry. Another server, though, says they appreciate the sentiment as well as the help, and another says they appreciate the idea even if it doesn't help.

This... Gentle Reader, my world was, in fact rocked. You mean... I might NOT be being helpful by putting the plates to the end of the table?
I KNOW, JUNGKOOK. I'm shocked, I tell you.
I always thought I was helping, but I can see how they probably don't need my help. And, they probably do have a way of doing it that's better than my half arsed method. But then, it seems like sometimes they like it.... and I've never been a server or a waitress.
So, GR, I turn to you : what do you think? Stack the plates or leave them be?
Ettiquitely yours,
Behka
