
Voters Choose Oldham, Scribner, Cross & Franklin for City Council
Voters have chosen incumbents Tom Oldham and Bob Cross, and newcomers Lee Scribner and Michelle Franklin to represent them on the Sedalia City Council.
According to figures provided by Pettis County Election Authority Megan Page, Tom Oldham garnered 312 votes in the First Ward to 236 votes for challenger Albert Reine, Jr., or roughly 56% to 42%.
In a close race in the Second Ward, Scribner secured 172 votes to Michelle Abney's 152, or roughly 53% to 48%.
In Ward Three, the results were even closer, with incumbent Bob Cross getting 255 votes compared to challenger David Covington receiving 241 votes, or roughly 51% to 48%. Councilman Cross won by a mere 14 votes.
And in the Fourth Ward, Michelle Franklin bested Harry Hoffert by a margin of 338 to 302 votes, or 52% to 46%. Franklin won by 36 votes.
A seat in the Fourth Ward was up for grabs after Fourth Ward Councilman Steve Bloess decided not to run for reelection.
Fourth Ward Councilwoman Rhiannon Foster's term expires in 2026.
A proposition on the ballot to extend a county-wide sales tax in Pettis County passed, 2567 to 1657, or 60% to 39%.
Diana Nichols and Barbara Jean Schrader won seats on the Sedalia District 200 Board of Education, with 1759 and 1651 votes, respectively. Kyle Yarber came in third place with 833.

The top three vote getters in the race for Pettis County Health Center Board of Trustees were Adam Gerke, Chanelle Ream and Donald Ward, beating out Nicolas Reece, Dale Garrett and Kyle Yarber.
Tuesday's election saw a 16.67% turnout, with 4,285 votes cast out a total of 25,708 registered voters in Pettis County.
Page's unofficial results will be certified on Friday at the state level.
The winners of the City Council seats are expected to be sworn in April 21.
