If there's something Sedalians know well, it's a good donut.  Or doughnut?

We've got a lot of great history with those little sugary delights.  Yummy's Donuts, Best Donut, and of course the legendary Papa Jakes.  I think Panera does donuts too, and a few other places do.

And now, another donut opportunity is presenting itself.

Wait, What Are You Talking About?

Yep, it's a mobile truck full o'donuts.  What could be bad about that?

It's really a crazy story, how Hurts Donut came to be. They learned how to make donuts by watching YouTube videos, and bought all their initial equipment used on Craigslist.  Yet look at how far they've come since 2013!  According to their bio, they had seven dollars in their bank account when they first opened.  I think a lot of us can relate to that.

So When Are They Coming?

It's supposed to be next week, so sometime the week of May 19th.  But where is still debated. The company put a post up on their Facebook page asking for suggestions of where the truck would park.

I know what you're thinking - you just mentioned the greatest hits of Sedalia donuts.  Why should I go to this truck?  Well, our local places are amazing. I know that. You know that. But Hurts are doing some interesting, sometimes crazy flavors.  So they're worth a shot in that regard, if you're looking for something other than your classic morning favorites.

But really, probably what I would do if I were you is just set up an office tasting party.  Stop by and get a half dozen from Yummy's, Best, and PJ, and then compare and contrast with with Hurts does!  Hurts may have the best Fruity Pebble donut, but can anyone beat Papa Jake's Bavarian Cream?  Yummy's has those jalapeno sausage rolls... will Hurts Donut defeat them with the MEGA COOKIE?   And how will Best Donut respond on SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY??!

You get what I'm throwin down here.  Let's have some fun with it!

EDIT: We've got a time and a place. They'll be here on Friday the 16th at 11 a.m., Thompson Hills Shopping Center, 890 Thompson Blvd.

Deliciously yours,
Behka

LOOK: 35 Vintage Cereals That Perfectly Captured Pop Culture Moments

Movies and TV shows have always found ways to partner with cereal companies as part of their promotion strategy. While some may have come up with a giveaway in boxes, others went big by having their own cereal connected to the movie or TV show title. Here are vintage cereals that were used to promote some of pop culture's biggest moments (and some you probably forgot about).
