Sedalia Police Reports For April 27, 2023

Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Winchester Avenue. The caller followed the vehicle to the Hardee’s restaurant, 715 East Broadway Boulevard, where Officers made contact with the suspect. Juan C. Vargas-Rodriguez, 49, of La Monte, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender), felony Driving While Revoked, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 1st Degree. Vargas-Rodriguez was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a subject with a warrant on the premises. Shawn W. Mantonya, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Parole Violation warrant on original charges of felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and felony Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree. Mantonya was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held with no bond.
Sedalia Police responded to the area of East 14th Street and South Center Avenue for a report of a dog bite Wednesday evening. Officers gathered information and generated a report.
Officers responded to the 200 block of West 32nd Street Wednesday evening in response to a call about a drug overdose. Officers were able to administer NARCAN to the subject. The subject was treated and transported by PCAD to the BRHC.
Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Carr Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated she had been assaulted by her juvenile daughter. A juvenile referral form has been sent to the juvenile office.
