Thursday night, officers conducted a traffic stop on a car after they observed it was failing to maintain its lane. The license plates also expired in August of 2023. The driver was intoxicated by drugs. The driver, as well as the owner of the vehicle that showed up, were in possession of a prohibited weapon. Roman Rios, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Unlawful Possession of an Illegal Weapon and Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Ricardo Rios, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Unlawful Possession of an Illegal Weapon. Both were placed under arrest and booked at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East 17th Street regarding a possible burglary. Upon arrival, Officers searched the property, but the suspect had fled the scene. Through investigation, the suspect was identified and information was gathered for a report.


 

Sedalia Police took a theft report Thursday night. The theft occurred between Wednesday night and Thursday morning in the 1300 block of East 10th Street. Alissa Ann Malone reported that over $1,000 worth of make-up and beauty supplies were stolen from the trunk of her unlocked car.

Thursday evening, Officers stopped a black Ford truck because it had illegal amounts of window tinting. The front side windows were measured at 6%*. The driver did not have proof of insurance. Officers are requesting state charges for him on Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Illegal Window Tinting. The driver was not named in the report.


 

Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center to investigate a report of a dog bite. Matthew J. Grant said he was walking near the Sedalia Public Library and was reportedly bitten by a dog twice. Information for the report was collected.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of a physical disturbance in progress. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information, identified all parties involved, and determined a domestic assault had occurred. Roul Agustio, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.


 

*Missouri Law allows window tint on the windows to the immediate right and left of the driver of 35 percent, plus or minus three percent light transmittance.
