If you do the shopping you know paper goods and other household supplies can drive up your grocery bill. It's the same when it comes to Open Door. One of the ways you can help Open Door continue to battle food insecurity and more in Pettis County is to give them a hand.

Open Door needs the following items:

  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Napkins
  • Bleach
  • Liquid hand soap
  • Trash bags
  • Coffee filters
  • Plastic forks,
  • Eight-ounce paper cups
  • Three-compartment clamshell to-go containers
  • Reams of copy paper.

The clamshell to-go containers can be ordered from here or here.

So the next time you go shopping and are picking up a pack of TP for your family, or paper towels, or any of those necessities needed for your home. Pick something from the list that Open Door needs and buy it for them.

You can then take the item, or items, to the following drop-off locations:

  • Katy Trail Main Street Clinic, 305 W. Main
  • Margaret Ward State Farm Insurance, 1710 Main Street
  • ReMax of Sedalia, 1435 Thompson Boulevard
  • Woods East, 701 E Broadway
  • TreMok Coffee, 3040 W Broadway
  • Sedalia Country Club, 5074 State Highway Y
  • Central Bank of Sedalia, Main location, 301 West Broadway
  • Open Door Thrift Shop, 612 S. Hancock.

The bins will be available at these places throughout March.

According to their website, Open Door "Demonstrates the love of God by providing life-essential services such as food, clothing, shelter, and emergency assistance to those in need." And has been doing so in Pettis County for 52 years.
