Whatever You Do, Don’t Put Your Feet On the Dashboard This Summer
Guys, I don't know about you, but summertime is kind of associated with road trips to me.
I have a lot of memories of road trips with the family. Now some of them were work related. My Dad used to work for Butternut Bread back in the day, and sometimes he would take us with him on an extra delivery or two on the weekend. Nothing too far, but I remember we went to Kickapoo one time, and there was another time we went down towards the bootheel.
Anyway, it was a lot of time staring out the window, and a lot of time trying to determine if my sister had psychic powers (she had a book about ESP from the library, and had me test her).
Part of that, I'm sure, involves the open windows, enjoying nature, all that good stuff. And sure, you've heard of people putting their hands out of the windows or other people reaching out of the sunroof, it's normal road trip stuff to do. But there is one thing I would encourage the road trippers of West Central Missouri NOT to do, and that's to put your feet up on the dash.
Now I'm hoping that a driver would never do that, but I'm talking to the navigator in the passenger seat. I know you've got a lot going on there - you may be responsible for the next turn, the station on the radio, and you may also be the Snack Distributor. And I get that you want to relieve some of that and relax. But seriously. Don't. Well, unless you're extremely flexible. Here's why.
I don't even want to think about it. Nope. No thank you. I'll keep my feet down, thanks. I don't know how different older cars without an air bag would react, but.... I'll stay on the safe side.
Safely yours,
Behka
