Check Out The Awesome New Food Truck At Our Stations!
We've got a new neighbor in our parking lot here at Townsquare Media Sedalia that you'll want to check out. BLD N GO, a new food truck, debuted last Thursday, offering various burritos and bowls that you can completely customize.
The concept is pretty simple. For $12, you can build your own burrito or bowl. You can start by building your burrito or bowl with one of seven proteins, then add to your perfect meal by choosing three types of rice, beans, various salsas, and warm and cold toppings.
Want something to munch on along with your bowl or burrito? They offer chips and salsa, chips and queso, and chips and guacamole. Additionally, they offer Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Dr Pepper, and Water to wash it all down. Look at their menu below to see everything they're currently offering.
We tried it last Thursday, and everyone here at the radio station enjoyed their burritos and bowls. Even me, and I'm a ridiculously picky eater. I can't wait to try it again tomorrow. Last week, I was fairly conservative and got the grilled chicken, white rice, shredded cheese, and a side of chips and queso.
The chicken, my protein, was plentiful, and even without many toppings, I got a really large burrito that was more filling than many of the lunches I normally get. Granted, with my very conservative mix of foods and no salsa, the burrito was a little dry, but it was freaking good.
I ran into BLD N GO's owner and asked for suggestions on what he thinks would be good for building a better burrito for a finicky eater like me. After our chat, I think tomorrow's lunch will be a grilled chicken burrito with cilantro lime rice, ancho chipotle salsa, and shredded cheese. If I feel like living dangerously, I may even add some Chorizo into the mix.
Based on customer feedback from the truck's soft opening last Thursday, he also told me that he'd made a few tweaks regarding the seasoning on some of the proteins, the size of the chicken chunks, and the like for a more flavorful and slightly easier eating experience.
If you want a big bang for your money for lunch or dinner, BLD N GO will deliver. I highly encourage you to pull into our lot and try it for yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Also, if you happen to see Randy, Behka, Mike, Lori, McKenzie, or myself in the parking lot, feel free to wave or say hello. If it's during business hours, don't be too shy to pop on in the office and ask us for a sticker or a T-shirt.
BLD N GO is in the radio station's parking lot under the Townsquare Media sign, 2209 S. Limit, Sedalia, 65301. It is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM CDT. You can learn more about BLD N GO by following their Facebook page!
