When we were young, a lot of the older generations would always tell us to "go play". Most of the time, they just wanted some peace and quiet. But as you parents know, playing is very important for the little ones. It helps to teach them a lot of things like object permanence, being able to tell distance of whether something is close or far away, stuff like that. It's definitely a "learning by doing" type of scenario.

And while I'm sure you can do a lot to help them in this period of development, it couldn't hurt to have some help, right?

Bring your littles to the Sedalia branch to play with a variety of toys that build fine motor skills and participate in activities suitable for children ages 6 months-5! Thursdays from 10-11:30 am starting June 12th.

So this is a session for the really little ones.  The ones who aren't old enough for Kindergarten, but maybe don't have a pre-school or anything like that. They can come and play, and have an amazing time playing with toys appropriate for their ages.

It'll be happening at the Boonslick Library,  219 West 3rd Street.  They'll start on June 12th, but obviously they  need a head count first.  So if you want to bring your kid, give them a call at  660-827-READ, option 3.

Playgroupingly yours,
