Late Monday night, a truck was stopped near West 16th Street and South State Fair Boulevard for speeding. The vehicle was travelling at 53 MPH in a 35 zone. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Joshua Ryan Nelson, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested for Speeding (16-19 MPH Over) and Driving While Intoxicated. Nelson was transported to the Sedalia Police Department for processing, and then released with municipal citations.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Rosy Coster came to the Police Station lobby to report fraud. Coster stated someone committed fraud at the Division of Family Services, 808 Westwood Avenue.


 

Officers spoke with Kelsey Anderson in the lobby of the Police Department Wednesday afternoon in regards to a theft. Anderson stated while she was at work at the Ivory Grille, 317 South Ohio Avenue, someone stole $160.00 from her purse.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue in reference to a hit and run accident. Officers arrived and made contact with the victim. The victim reported that another vehicle ran the light at the intersection, and collided with her vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene without providing any information.


 

Sunday morning, Officers observed a vehicle with excessively dark window tinting fail to stop at stop sign and then strike a curb. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near South Lamine Avenue and East 2nd Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Alexis Ojeda, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Odeja was issued a UTT, fingerprinted, and then released form the Sedalia Police Department.

Very early Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a white Dodge Ram pickup that had a defective headlight in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Road. Officers made contact with the driver, who admitted he had no driver’s license. Dispatch confirmed the suspect did not have a driving status. Alejandro Alexander Alexander, 24, of Knob Noster, was arrested on a charge of Operator’s License Required. Alexander was then issued a citation and released on scene for what the report calls “extenuating circumstances”.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the former Stephanie Morris Nissan, 3600 South Limit Avenue in response to a burglary no longer in progress. Amanda A. Gay reported the damage to the property to approximate $5,000. It is unknown if anything is stolen at news time.


 

Wednesday morning, a call came to the SPD regarding an incident of harassment. Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Walk In Winchester Clinic, 3700 West 10th Street. Upon arrival, pertinent information was gathered. The reporting party wanted documentation from law enforcement. A report was completed for documentation.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of theft from the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard Wednesday morning. Kimberly Casdorph reported a bike was stolen off her front porch overnight.


 

On the afternoon of July 22nd, Michael Grinstead came to the lobby of the Police Station to report his vehicle was struck in the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. The other party involved left without leaving information.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West 7th Street for a report of assault. The Officers identified a primary aggressor shortly afterwards, and arrested him in the 400 block of West 7th Street. Martavious Keyshawn Thomas, 33, Homeless, was arrested on charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree, Property Damage in the 2nd Degree, felony Assault in the 3rd Degree, and Harassment in the 1st Degree. Thomas was transported to the Pettis County jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
