Early Wednesday morning, a truck was stopped in the area of Granny Lane and West Broadway Boulevard. The driver of the truck was known to have a warrant for his arrest. Gary Eugene Hudson, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested on his Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County, stemming from an incident in October 2023. Hudson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in for his FTA warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility and Speeding*. Hudson was issued a total cash bond of $397.00.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Menard’s store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue, in reference to a past theft. Officers gathered the information on a past incident that a suspect was arrested for. A report was submitted, and new charges are being sought against the suspect.


 

Monday afternoon, a victim came into the lobby of the Police Department to report that someone they had an ex parte against was harassing them in the 1700 block of South Kentucky Avenue. Over all, the suspect had sent 162 messages in less than 24 hours. A warrant request has been submitted, and Officers are requesting charges of Violation of an Order of Protection and Harassment. The suspect’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

Sedalia Police received a call early Wednesday morning regarding a domestic violence incident near the 1700 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The suspect had fled upon Officer’s arrival. Officers spoke with the victim and a witness. The suspect was located and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Steven Dane Cowan, 31, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree (Simple)** and a Parole Violation warrant. The Parole Violation warrant stemmed from an incident in August of 2022, and his Parole was revoked in October of 2023 on a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 2nd Degree. Cowan was booked in on the warrant and the new charge, placed on a 24-hour hold, and issued a $10,000 cash only bond on the warrant. At news time, bond had not yet been set for the DA charge.


 

On the afternoon of December 13th, Detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit and the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in the 800 block of Crescent Drive. During the search warrant, evidence was gathered pertaining to drugs being sold from the residence. Freddie Eugene Sisemore III, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


 

*According to Casenet #23PT-CR01384 and 704181952, Hudson was clocked by the MSHP travelling at a speed of 74 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. Hudson was issued a notice in December of 2023 to take care of the citation or his driving privileges will be suspended after 30 days. Since the arrest occurred on January 17th, Hudson’s privilege was still valid until the 21st. Therefore, did not receive a citation for DWS during this traffic stop.

**Domestic assault in the Second Degree is a Class D felony in Missouri. Since this charge is Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree (Simple), Simple domestic violence/assault is the charge when someone has at least two or more priors or involves “serious bodily injury” to someone living with the individual accused, including a spouse, child, or parent. It involves assault, assault with a deadly weapon, or strangulation.
