Tuesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a truck in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue. The truck was stopped because it had improper registration and it disobeyed a stop sign. The license plate had been altered, to make the plate appear genuine and legal. Oscar Gonzalez, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Forgery. Gonzalez was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.


Monday evening, Officers were dispatched to a report of fraud that had occurred in the 1600 block of East 16th Street. Officers contacted the victim via cell phone, and gathered information for the report. Officers were able to identify the suspect, and made contact with him. Officers located the intoxicated suspect in the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers discovered the fraudulently purchased items in his vehicle. Bennett Tyler Neely*, 25, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card Device. Neely was then transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Officers responded to the Police Department lobby Monday afternoon for a report of persons fraudulently filing taxes. The filing took place in the 1400 block of South Ohio Avenue. Officers gathered information from all parties involved, and a report was completed.


Monday night, Officers were notified by Dispatch to contact a victim in the 1500 block of South Harrison Avenue regarding a report of rape. Officers gathered information for the report, and the investigation is ongoing.


Sedalia Police were dispatched to a report of fraud Monday evening. Officers contacted the victim, and gathered information for the report about the fraud, which occurred in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The suspect is known, and has not yet been taken into custody.


*Officers note in the report that there is an additional suspect in this case. While the individual cannot be named at this time, the Officers note the suspect is known to law enforcement.
