Early Tuesday morning, Officers were patrolling the premises of RCL Wiring, 601 South Marshall Avenue. While checking the area, Officers observed a subject trespassing on the property. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, who fled on foot. Officers attempted to locate the suspect, but they were not successful in locating them.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a warrant check. The subject was found to have an active Failure to Appear warrant for their arrest. Alicia D. Smith, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for her FTA warrant on original charges of Driving Without a License. Smith was transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a bond of $1500 cash or surety.


 

Sedalia Police observed a Toyota Prius fail to stop at the stop sign of South Grand Avenue and West 16th Street last Thursday night. A computer check showed the driver had a suspended driving status. Toby Holden Parker, 23, of Knob Noster, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Parker was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department to be fingerprinted and issued a UTT.


 

Monday night, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 1200 block of South Stewart Avenue. Officers located the suspect inside a residence, and she fled into a back bedroom. Shortly after, the suspect climbed out of the window and ran from Officers. She was quickly taken into custody. Heather Dawn Borgstadt, 38, Homeless, was arrested. Borgstadt was charged with Resisting Arrest and was also booked in for her warrant on charge of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set at $7500 cash or surety.


 

On the night of June 20th, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with excessive window tint. The stop took place near West 20th Street near South Limit Avenue. It was discovered the driver had a revoked driving status. Alfredo Carlos, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Carlos was then issued a UTT and released.

Early Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street, to investigate a report of a subject who had come in with a stab wound. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to the victim. The victim stated he was at the location of the incident (which was redacted from the report), playing on the slot machines. He then stated the suspect came at him from the side and he felt a stabbing pain in his left upper arm. The victim said he didn’t see what he stabbed with, and wasn’t sure why the suspect stabbed him, as he knew the suspect but was not friends with him. Officers located the suspect soon after, in the 1300 block of South Lamine Avenue. He had a probation violation warrant and was placed under arrest. The suspect denied assaulting anyone at first, but mentioned there was a knife on the floor of the business where he and the victim were fighting. The suspect said he picked the knife up an threw it along the Katy Trail. Shane Steven Ruth, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of felony Assault in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, and his Probation Violation warrant on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
