Early Monday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop on a car that had no license plate lights. Officers checked the driver’s information with Dispatch, and it was discovered she had a warrant for her arrest. Mary A. Lancaster, 60, had been issued a citation for Expired Plates in September of 2022. Lancaster failed to appear in court, and a warrant was issued for her arrest in March 2023. Lancaster was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked in and given a cash or surety bond of $250.00.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Barrett Avenue. Officers were called to investigate a physical domestic disturbance. On arrival, a primary physical aggressor could not be determined. A 12-hour log was completed.


 

Sedalia Police stopped a truck in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Murray Avenue Saturday evening because it was following too closely and was demonstrating improper lane usage. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Benito Rodriguez Jr., 49, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Driving While Intoxicated*. Rodriguez was booked in at the Pettis County Jail, issued a notice of suspension, and awaited release to a sober person.


 

Sunday morning, a vehicle was stopped in the area of East 16th Street and South Center Avenue. The vehicle failed to yield, and continued driving to the area of East 15th Street and South Wagner Avenue. The driver stepped out, and failed to comply with Police commands. During the arrest, the driver was observed to be intoxicated. Christopher Lawrence Carter Jr., 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Carter was transported to the Sedalia Police station for processing. Carter was then released to a sober driver with a municipal citation.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Walnut Street in regards to stolen property Saturday night. Judy Lee explained someone had stolen a license plate off her vehicle, or the plate had been lost.


 

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 400 block of East Jackson Street for a report of a theft in progress. Paige Dixon stated she had seen a subject steal several items from her vehicle. Some stolen property was recovered in the area, and a suspect has been identified. Four other victims were also identified during the investigation.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East 11th Street las Thursday afternoon for a report of a theft. A gun had been stolen from a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and gathered information. A report was completed and the gun was entered into NCIC.


 

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Park Avenue in regards to a garage being broken into at the Parkway Freewill Baptist Church. Monica Jackson and Martin Nash reported someone had broken into the garage sometime between Friday and Sunday, with personal items stolen as well.


 

Last Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department lobby for a report of thefts from vehicles. The thefts occurred in the 200 block of Tower Street, and the thefts occurred sometime overnight. Officers gathered information from the parties involved and a report was completed.

On the afternoon of March 17th**, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 1900 block of South Montgomery Avenue. Officers identified an individual with two active warrants for their arrest. Mikayla Kaye Droege, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested on her 2022 Failure to Appear warrant from Bates City Municipal (Lafayette County) on original charges of Expired Plates. Droege was issued a ticket for Driving While Revoked in November of 2023, and a warrant was issued in by Pettis County in March of 2024. Total bond on both warrants was set at $2500 cash or surety, and $60 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 400 block of North Mill Street Sunday morning. Officers identified a subject with a warrant out of Pettis County on charges of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree. Darryl Allen Frazier, 57, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bond was set at $3750.00 cash or surety.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers responded to the Pettis County Jail to take a report of a sexual assault. The assault took place in the 1600 block of East 4th Street on March 12th. Officers spoke with the reporting party, and gathered information for the report.


 

Officers responded to the 1300 block of East 9th Street regarding a domestic disturbance Sunday morning. Officers were unable to identify a primary aggressor. A 12-hour domestic log was conducted.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a reported theft Saturday afternoon. The witnesses stated an employee was caught shoplifting items on multiple dates from the business. The employee was terminated as a result. Alissa Ann Malone, 23, of Booneville, was arrested on a charge of Shoplifting. Malone was released with a city summons.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of West 1st Street Terrace for a report of a domestic assault and a theft of a phone. Officers arrived on scene, spoke with the victim, gathered evidence of their injury, and a report was completed.


 

Officers responded to the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue on the afternoon of February 27th regarding a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Officers were advised the striking vehicle had left the scene. There are no leads at this time.


 

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to a car versus deer crash. The accident occurred in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Mitchell Avenue. When Officers arrived on scene, the deer was determined to be beyond medical help. Officers dispatched*** the deer.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Department regarding two instances of theft that occurred from the National TV Sales and Rental, 1400 South Limit Avenue, Suite 10. Officers were given all the information about the suspects involved in the incidents, and a report is being made.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue Saturday afternoon in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officers made contact with the business owner, how stated that at some point overnight, a vehicle was stolen off of the lot. The information of the vehicle was gathered, and a report was submitted.


 

On the evening of Tuesday, March 12th, Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and Sellers Road because the vehicle’s license plates did not come back to the vehicle they were on. After identifying the occupants of the vehicle, it was found the driver’s privileges were suspended out of Kansas****. Doyle K. King, 50, of Kansas City, Kansas, was cited for Driving While Suspended and No Proof of Insurance.


 

Friday night, Sedalia Police responded to the 1100 block of East 11th Street for a physical domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to one of the subjects involved. He stated he had been arguing with his wife, and they were talking about divorce. His wife had shut him out of their bedroom. The husband had knocked on the door, and asked if they could talk. The wife let him in, but didn’t say anything. According to the husband, he tried to get the victim’s attention, before he took a belt and struck at the victim. He denied hitting the victim, but instead claimed hitting the mattress. The victim was holding their infant in her arms, with another juvenile behind her as the husband swung the belt at the victim, striking her and the young juvenile. Jesus Ubaldo Quetzecua, 27, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest. After a check of information, it was discovered he had several Failure to Appear warrants of his arrest out of Jackson County. The incident occurred in April of 2023, and the warrants were issued after he did not appear in December 2023. Quetzecua was booked in at the Pettis County Jail on charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a child, and his FTA warrants on original charges of No Insurance, Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting in an Accident, Driving While Revoked, Displaying the License Plates of Another Person, and Driving While Intoxicated. Total bond on the warrants totaled $15000 cash or surety. Quetzecua was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Friday morning, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 500block of West 7th Street. Officers were able to identify the suspect, and confirmed his warrant through Dispatch. The arresting incident had occurred in March 12th. Officers were called to the residence to meet with the victim, who stated the suspect had damaged items in the home while he was letting the suspect stay there. The suspect confirmed he had destroyed the items because he was upset at the state of the residence. Roger Wayne Lindsey Jr., 38, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Property Damage in the 1st Degree. Bond was set at $2500 cash or surety, with the stipulation to not have any contact with the victim.


 

*This charge is considered a felony because of previous convictions for Driving While Intoxicated. Although every DWI case is different, a driver may be charged for a felony DWI in the following circumstances:
• Committing a third DWI
• DWI involving injuries or death
• Having a prior felony DWI conviction

Rodriguez Jr had a felony conviction of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated in 2007, and his driving privileges were reinstated in 2017.
