Thursday night, Officers observed a car turn from westbound West 32nd Street on southbound South Limit Avenue. The vehicle slowly drifted from the inside lane to the outside lane without signaling. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at Tiger Pride Boulevard and south Limit Avenue. The driver was intoxicated by drugs. It was discovered the driver and the occupants were in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Marylynn Inez Miller, 19, of Warsaw, was arrested on charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), two counts Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine and Percocet), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mallory Marie Nelson, 18, of Warsaw, was arrested on two counts of possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


Officers stopped a black Toyota Camry because it had illegal amounts of window tinting* on Thursday evening. The stop was conducted near South Ohio Avenue and East Broadway boulevard. The window tint measured at 15%. Officers are requesting a state charge of Illegal Material on the Front Side Windows. The driver was not named in the report.


Thursday evening, Officers were contacted by Haylie Powers regarding a theft. She stated someone stole a package off her porch in the 1600 block of East 6th Street. Officers gathered information and generated a report.


Sedalia Police stopped a truck because it had illegal amounts of window tinting* on Thursday evening. The truck was stopped near Skyline School, in the 2500 block of West 32nd Street. The tint measured 3%. Officers are requesting a state charge of Illegal Material on the Front Side Windows. The driver was not named in the report.


On the evening of May 14th, Officers conducted a traffic stop into the Missouri State Fairgrounds on a vehicle that was speeding. Officers discovered the driver had a revoked license. Ivy Sierra Dority, 20, of Warsaw, was arrested on charges of Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Failure to Register Annually with the DOR, Driving While Revoked, and Speeding.


Thursday night, Officers responded to the 1200 block of East 6th Street for a report of a potential domestic assault. The assault had happened earlier in the night involving subjects that don’t live at the address, and were no longer on scene. Officers were able to locate the suspect and question her. Officers were able to determine a domestic assault had occurred. Rene Theresa Esselman, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.

Officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Avenue. After a brief investigation, the driver was placed under arrest. Michael D. Runyan, 29, of Warsaw, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Runyan was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


Sedalia Police responded to the former Jerry Baker’s Auto Sales, 2120 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to found property. John Baker reported he found two license plates in their parking lot and didn’t know who they belonged to. The license plates were collected and placed into found property.


Tuesday and Thursday morning, a woman came into the lobby of the Police Department to report her husband had violated an order of protection in the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue.


On the morning of May 13th, Officers were dispatched to the area of West 4th Street and South Quincy Avenue for a report of an animal running at large. Officers identified the owner. Lori A. Kalamon, 50, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for Animals Running at Large.


* Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Missouri, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window. Side windows must allow more than 35% of light in.
