Guys, I am trying. I really am. I want to be a person that is considered a "green thumb"!

This year, NJ has totally spoiled/indulged me, and I have a lot of plants on our front and back porch. Some of them I got from bigger box stores, but I also got some from the SFCC Horticulture Club plant sale, and we popped by and got a few things from Moore's before they started to shut it down for the summer.

But I have to admit... I'm not the best at keeping these guys alive. I mean, they end up making it for a while, and some of them do well - but there's always some kind of funeral at the end of the summer. What's going to make it back inside the house, and what's.... going to the garbage.

It's led me to look into stuff that I can't kill.  You know, so we can avoid this heartbreak.  And while I have a few fakeys here and there (RIP to the one in my living room, 'Troy McClure'.  You were great but no match for the cat), I don't have anything I've made myself.  Something I could take personal pride in, like an art project, rather than something I just picked up.

And of course, since the internet can tell these things, this came up on my socials.

I thought, "How cool is that?", and then I thought, "Oh, I doubt I could pull that off myself." Then, I just kinda gave up on it.  It was just another cool idea for someone else.

HOWEVER, there is a chance to learn how to make these forever succulents locally! And it's coming up soonish, but not too soon that you can't plan ahead.

Wickz & Stones presents an intriguing creative wire twisting class! Join us for drinks and snacks while learning a new hobby! This class will teach you how to make “forever succulents.”

So here are the deets - it's going to be held at Wickz and Stones, which is over at 1601 South Osage (think where Backwoods Guitar used to be, over on the intersection of 16th Street).  They're having it on July 11th. It'll take a few hours, so it'll start at 5:00 p.m. and end by 8:00 or so. You can message them here for more information.  But it looks cool, and it's only $45, which I assume is for your supplies and all that good stuff.  Just let them know by the Independence Day weekend if you wanna sign up, so they have enough tables and chairs and whatnot.

Oh man, just imagine the gifts you could make for people. And what an interesting skill to learn!

Succulently Yours,
Behka
