I know a lot of you are getting a little nervous about the whole Corona thing. I get it, I really do.  I'm not the type of person to think the world is going to end because of it, but maybe I'm just an optimist.  Or I'm delusional, that could be the case.

So anyway, I thought I'd share a few little things I've seen around Sedalia during this whole thing that are actually positive. People helping people, people being polite, etc.

I was out shopping for a few things (I bought a gallon of milk, some frozen cod, a head of lettuce, stuff you need, you know. Not ten packages of baby wipes. No panic buying in the Moreland household).  Everyone at the store was doing their best to keep their distance, but they also were helping each other with carts.  You know what I'm talking about. A guy wiped down a cart with a wipe and gave it to a lady who couldn't get her quarter to work.

I also saw a lady in the store who gave out a little cough.  People around her immediately flinched until she said, "Don't worry, I'm not sick.  I'm just a smoker!" People giggled and moved on.

Stores are saving people time by putting up signs outside to let people know what they are out of, so you don't have to go in and waste your time or expose yourself further to other people.

I saw online, people in Sedalia are trying to help others. I saw more than one person on social media offering to go and get groceries for people who need to stay inside (not paying for the groceries themselves, but offering to go pick them up for them).  Basically they were offering a free delivery services, and I thought that was just so kind.

I don't know what I can do personally other than keep you updated on what's going on and remind you about ways to fight this off.  I guess my biggest obligation is to remind you not to panic, that we'll get through this, and eventually we'll be okay.

What positives have you seen around Sedalia since this outbreak? Have you done anything to help someone yourself? Even if it's just wiping down the cart for somebody... I think every little bit of kindness is a great way to combat panic.

Disenfectingly yours,
