An Impossible Day Has Come to The World of Peanut Butter Cups
Guys, not to sound too dramatic, but in my little world there was a bit of shakeup recently.
NJ commutes to work. So he ends up driving quite a bit and visiting gas stations a lot as a consequence of that. And since he's in there all the time, he looks for little things for me to try to write about. He likes to feed my inner Food Critic, I guess? I personally think he finds it amusing when I DON'T like something.
Okay, So What is It This Time, Chubbster?
I don't want make anyone freak out, but... Reese's has put out a product that... I am apathetic about.
I KNOW. You're probably thinking there's something wrong with me. After all, Missouri is filled with a ton of Reese's fans. It's our number one candy. In general, I really like them, too! But... I don't know about this.
I'll Ask Again. What Are You Talking About?
Reese's has an official Peanut Butter Cup that is also PB&J. It came out in April of this year. They have two varieties, one with grape jelly, and one with strawberry.
So as you can see, NJ got the sampler pack. But it's just one flavor.
Which is fine, and I was really looking forward to it, because I really really liked the Peanut Butter and Jelly M&Ms.
As you can see, these have a little bit of actual jelly in them, unlike the M&Ms.
Now Gentle Reader, I'm no commie. I love Reese's just as much as the average red-blooded Missourian. But these.... I just got an "eh" from em.
I know, my dearest Seokjin. It's insanity.
Don't get me wrong. They're fine. They're peanut butter cups. So of course they're delicious. But... there just wasn't enough jelly flavor for me to take this seriously as a "peanut butter AND jelly" type of candy. While I like that I can see the goo, it's not immediately winning me over. It's just not very... PB&J. If you're gonna change the flavor of a classic, make it noticeable, you know?

So to me, these were... fine. They're not life changing. But they're acceptable. Honestly, I'd take a regular Reece's over these any day, but they're good for a nice change of pace. They're worth a try, but not worth putting into regular snack rotation.
What do you think? Have you tried the PB&J Reece's Cups?
Jellingly yours,
Behka
