Well, This Tempting Candy Purchase Really Escalated Quickly
I know, I know. I have become the sort of "food correspondent" around here these days. But dang if there isn't some company or other trying to get my attention with some new flavor or style of a treat every other day.
And they're succeeding.
Anyway, I heard about the Peanut Butter and Jelly M&Ms, and decided to give them a shot. NJ and I both wanted to try it. So I go to Walgreen's to buy some, and Scott (Everyone knows Scott, he's the super friendly guy with the southernish accent who's almost always at the front register when he's working) told me he'd heard mixed reviews! He did tip me off that he thought the "Jelly" flavor was strawberry.

So of course, I bought a couple of bags. And here, Gentle Reader, is where my troubles began. Honestly, I'm not TOO much of a fan of the PB&J sammitch.
I mean, it's fine. But it's not a thing I go to as an adult for a snack or a lunch or whatever. But I bought these things, I went home, and then.... well. I enjoyed the legal, responsible consumption of herbal jazz cigarettes in the privacy of my own home. And then... things escalated.
Yes, these candies were so good, my brain demanded I make them into cookies THAT INSTANT. And verily, I did. Seriously. My little mind was blown.
I literally wrote myself a note about it that I found later after I had a nap while the cookies cooled. It had a phrase I memorized in high school on it. "I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself."
The long and the short of it is, they're good. If you're skeptical of PB&J like I am, give em a try. They're totally worth buying a bag just to try a few and pass the rest around your office or something. They were still really good. It's just Peanut Butter M&M covered in strawberry or berry flavored chocolate, coated in candy. That is one thing - it's not grape jelly flavored. There's no actual jelly in it, so don't stress. Just..... maybe don't try them with the free pre-roll you get for your birthday.
Cookingly yours,
Behka
